I have a small kitchen. Well, if you’ve ever been here, you’d know that I have a big kitchen laid out terribly. I have very little counter and cupboard space. I am always on the lookout for products that help save space. Dexas’s Collapsible 8″ POP Strainer is awesome. The collapsible strainer expands to the capacity of a full quart with a simple flick of the wrist. The unique design allows it to collapse down to a mere one inch, the thickness of a dinner plate. When flattened, the surfaces and holes remain exposed in the dishwasher for optimum cleansing. The strainer withstands heat up to 250 degrees. We have used this for both noodles and meat (did you know that if you run ground beef through a strainer and run water over it, you can get rid of some of the extra fat? I learned that at a party many moons ago). It works great. My old colanders are now being moved to the sandbox! That’s how much better this works, and it saves me space!

The next item I have to tell you about is the Over-The-Sink Strainer Board.  Seriously, this is one of those products I wonder why nobody thought of before.  It is made of nonporous, all-purpose white poly, which provides a tough cutting surface and will not dull fine knives. This board also features a sturdy-grip on one end and a cutout handle made of Santoprene rubber on the other. The collapsible silicone strainer saves you room in the dishwasher and cabinets.

Seriously, so easy to use.  I love that it fits great over my sink.  I love that my newly washed veggies aren’t sitting at the botton of my sink or on my dirty countertop.  I also love that this is collapsable, so it doesn’t eat up all my cupboard space!  The silicone strainer basket is also removable, and you can really use it to strain almost everything (pasta, fruit, vegetables, etc).
