Wolferman’s French Toast Rounds
Written by Lisa on October 19, 2008 – 8:33 pm -
This easy to make recipe is take off of our well known french toasts. However, if you are looking for something a little different, definitely try out these french toast rounds.
I recommend using Wolferman’s English Muffins for this recipe for several reasons. First, I love the size of them. That is literally the first thing you will notice. If you are like me, you are buying whatever is cheaper at the store. However, cheap does not equal same quality. Wolferman’s English Muffins are double the size of what I normally buy. I also noticed right away that I didn’t have to slice these open. With little ones, I try to use knives the least amount as possible. These you just have to gently pull them apart. These are super yummy too. I cannot believe the taste difference. When you open the bag, you immediately can smell the flavor. The cinnamon and raison english muffins is one of the best scents. Another favorite flavor for our house was the Apple Orchards (I liked the scent of this one too). If you need english muffins, I highly recommend Wolferman’s. Without further ado, here is the recipe:
4 Wolferman’s 1910 Original Signature English Muffins (you could also use the Honey & Oats, Cinnamon & Raisin, and Cranberry English Muffins)
2 eggs
1 1/4 cups milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, vanilla, and cinnamon until well blended. Heat a lightly oiled griddle to medium/hot. Dip both sides of the muffin halves into the egg mixture. Place slices on heated griddle. Cook until golden brown on both sides.
Both my kids and I liked this (hubby missed it due to being at the Chicago Bears game). Let me know if you have a great french toast recipe I should try on our next bag of English muffins.

Nature’s Path Breakfast Favorites
Written by Lisa on September 3, 2008 – 9:28 pm -My kids love breakfast! They love cereal. However, mommy likes to mix it up a bit for them, so when I can find products out there that are both healthy and great tasting, I am very happy. You wouldn’t think it would be hard to find products that encompass both those, but it is.
One of the things we recently tried in our house was waffles from Nature’s Path. I personally am a waffle fan. They are one of my personal favorite breakfast foods. We tried both the Nature’s Path Gluten-Free HomeStyle Waffles and the Nature’s Path Flax Plus Red Berry Waffles. Now, the berry waffles were eaten by my husband and kids before I even got to try one! I got one bite when I was ripping it apart for Will. Needless to say, these were very good since they were gone so fast. I did get to try the gluten free waffles myself. They too were good. The one thing I noticed right off the bat is that when these waffles come out of the toaster, they are soft instead of crunchy. I have never had waffles come out that way. I think that made them even better. It gave the waffles more taste.
The other breakfast good we got to try was Nature’s Path Hot Oatmeal. The two flavors we tried were Veri Berry™ and Chocolada Almond™. Again, these were huge hits in our house. Not only did they taste good, they even smelled good! I noticed when I took the bowls out of the microwaves that the oatmeal wasn’t all dried out like what normally happens with other brands. When I added the water to the oatmeal, there was no guessing on how much I needed to put in there for it to turn out perfect. Madison loves this oatmeal so much that she still asks for it all the time. The oatmeal is vegan and contains more than 25g of whole grains per serving.
Nature’s Path has several other breakfast foods. I recommend checking them out for all your breakfast needs. They are a huge hit in my house and they will be in yours too.

EnviroKidz cereals
Written by Lisa on June 2, 2008 – 3:57 pm -
This site is all about easy cooking and what’s more easy than putting some cereal in a bowl and adding milk? Nothing, I tell you. Madison and I recently tried out the new EnviroKidz cereals, and I have to say I am impressed. Being lactose intolerant, it takes a lot to impress me with cereal too, since I am pretty much am stuck eating it dry (yes, I know there is soy milk, but I really don’t like it and the Lactaid pills are super expensive).
The two cereals we tried were the Leapin’ Lemurs and the Penguin Puffs. I’ve got one word for you: Yummy. The Leapin’ Lemurs are peanut butter and chocolate balls and the Penguin Puffs are a crunchy blend of kamut, quinoa and corn. They both are low fat, gluten free, whole grain, and low sodium. Did I mention organic too? This means no synthetic pesticides, no synthetic herbicides, no artificial preservatives or additives, and no irradiation. I love that not only is the front cover of this box just awesome to look at, there is a lesson on the back of the box. I learned that Lemur’s mostly live in Madagascar and they have lost over 80% of their living area to deforestation. They also are being hunted for food and to be people’s pets. You have to love a good learning lesson at breakfast. Another reason to get this cereal is that 1% of their sales is donated to endangered species, habitat conservation, and environmental education for children. It is amazing how together we can all make a difference.
Madison finished off the box of Penguin Puffs in two days. She ate it for breakfast and as a snack. The only reason we even have any of the Leapin’ Lemurs left is because I hide the box from her after breakfast. I even have to admit, I walked around snacking on this too, because it is really that good (I’m eating some as I write this review). Now, I am not a mom who “has” to buy organic for her kids. However, after eating this cereal, I might start doing so. Its good to know that it can taste good and be good for you also.
Now, I can’t keep all this yummy goodness to myself, so I have arranged so two lucky winners can also try this awesome organic cereal! Each winner will receive a box of Leapin’ Lemurs and and Penguin Puffs too! This is only available to the US. Now, here’s all you have to do:
1. Leave a comment on this post. I want to know why you would like to try this or tell me something about any of the other products Nature’s Path makes and looks interesting to you. One comment only please and let me know everything you did for your entries in that comment.

3. Stumble this post. If you don’t know what Stumble Upon is, please read Lori’s post at Blogging Cents. She explains it extremely well.
