Good Seasons Salad Dressing & Recipe Mix

good seasonsMy husband absolutely loves Good Seasons Salad dressing.  The combination of fresh produce and the artfully crafted blend of herbs and spices found in Good Seasons Salad Dressing & Recipe Mix enhances summer salads, complement cool dips and dial up the flavor as a grill-enhancing marinade.  I love that on the back of the packaging they have several different ways to make the dressing.  You can make teriyaki, dijon, greek, raspberry, lemon dill, cilantro lime, or just regular Italian dressing.  One of our favorite recipes to use the dressing with is this Ham & Cheese pull aparts:

½ cup mayo
¼ cup Italian dressing (that you just made with you Good Seasons Salad Dressing packet)
1 loaf (16 oz) soft Italian bread or unsliced sandwich bread
6 pieces of cheese
1 pkg. (6 oz) Oscar Mayer deli style ham  (You can add as much or as little meat as you want.  You can even change what kind of meat too!)
Tomato slices

Preheat oven @ 350 degrees.

Mix mayo and dressing. Set aside.

Cut ends off bread to make 12-inch loaf. Slice bread evenly into 12 slices, being careful not to cut all the way through to the bottom of the loaf. Spread mixture between every other pair of bread slices. Fill with singles, ham, and tomato. Wrap sandwich in foil

Bake for 15 – 20 minutes.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef

We recently got a part of a cow that was butchered. With one of the roasts we received, we tried to make Italian beef for sandwiches. Now, no school (even girls schools) really teaches you how to make a good Italian beef sandwich.  This was our first attempt, and I have to admit it was pretty darn good.

  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 (.7 ounce) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
  • 3 - 5 lb roast
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, mix broth, salt, ground black pepper, oregano, basil, onion salt, parsley, garlic powder, bay leaf, and salad dressing.
  2. Place the roast in slow cooker, and pour the salad dressing mixture over the meat.
  3. Cover, and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours. About an hour before you plan to serve, remove the bay leaf, and shred meat with a fork. Cover and cook for another hour. Serve when ready.

  • 1 can Pillsbury refrigerated pizza crust
  • 2 tablespoons honey mustard
  • 6 oz of thinly sliced lunch meat (you can use turkey, ham, chicken, etc)
  • 6 slices of cheese (whatever kind you prefer)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp sesame seed
Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. Unroll dough onto cookie sheet. Starting at the center, press out dough into 14x8 inch rectangle.
  2. Spread honey mustard over dough to 1 inch of edges. Layer the ham and cheese over the mustard.
  3. Fold the long sides of dough over the filling to the center of the rectangle. Pinch to seal. Pinch the short sides to seal and tuck under. Brush with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  4. Bake 14-18 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Cut into 6 pieces and serve warm.

My favorite part of this recipe is that you can put in whatever you like the best!
