Here are some interesting facts about cookies:

— The Toll House chocolate chip cookie was invented in 1933 by Ruth Wakefield. She was the owner of the Toll House Inn. She added bits of a broken chocolate bar into her butter drop cookie mixture.

— Before he became Cookie Monster, the Sesame Street muppet said his name was Sid.

— The desert camouflage pattern worn by US forces in the first Gulf War was nicknamed chocolate chip, because it resembled chocolate chip cookie dough.

— Nabisco’s Chips Ahoy were the biggest selling packaged chocolate chip cookie in 2006.

— Americans purchase about 100 million bags of chocolate chips every year.

Four Foods on Friday #18

This is a meme that I had been putting on My Thoughts, Ideas, and Ramblings. However, since this is a cooking blog, I thought it may go better here. That being said, here we go:

#1. Steak. Plain, steak sauce, hot sauce, ketchup or something else? Ketchup.
#2. Water. Flavored, plain, carbonated. How do you like it? Does with Crystal Light count as water?
#3. What’s your favorite kind of waffle? Belgium. Yummy.
#4. If you could have any one new small appliance for your kitchen what would it be and why? I would have to say blender, since I don’t own one.

Mud Pie
  • 2 Oreo Cookies in a ziplock bag
  • 1 Single serving cup of chocolate pudding
  • Whipping Cream
  1. Crush the Oreos and pour ¾'s of the bag into the bottom of a bowl. Cover the crushed Oreo's with the chocolate pudding. Cover pudding with whipped cream and add the remaining cookie crumbs to the top.
