Tip Of The Day

Baking powder is perishable.  Be sure that you check the expiration date on the can before you use it.  To see if the baking powder is still active, mix 1 tsp of baking powder with 1/3 cup of hot water.  If the mixture bubbles, the baking powder is still effective.

Caraway seeds can be stored at room temperature.  Poppy seeds and sesame seeds should be stored in the refrigerator.

Veggie Mac & Cheese With Meatballs

This easy to make recipe is a huge hit in my house!

 

 

Veggie Mac & Cheese With Meatballs

  • 3 cups water
  • 1½ cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 bag Green Giant frozen broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, & cheese flavored sauce
  • 18 frozen cooked meatballs thawed
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
  1. Heat water till boiling. Add macaroni and return to a boil. Cook 5 minutes over medium-high heat stirring occasionally. Do not drain.
  2. Stir in frozen vegetables and meatballs. Reduce heat to medium. Cover and cook 11 - 13 minutes stirring frequently to prevent sticking until sauce chips are melted. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
