I love things that make my life easier. Who doesn’t? I also love things that make baking desserts easier and not heating up my entire house. That is why I am currently in love with my Holstein Housewares Pound Cake Maker!

You can seriously make pound cake now in about 10 minutes, and that’s including preheating! It took me longer to find the ingredients in my pantry than it did to make a pound cake!

Seriously! Literally, you mix the ingredients together, add to the Holstein Housewares Pound Cake Maker, wait about 8-10 minutes and done! I frosted and decorated after it cooled off. I’m including the pound cake recipe I used, because I never knew I could make chocolate pound cake! Also, let me just say, yum.

Chocolate Pound Cake

  • 1½ cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup water
  • 1¾ tsp salt
  • 1¾ tsp baking powder
  • 1½ tsp vanilla
Instructions
  1. Mix dry ingredients together.
  2. Slowly add wet ingredients.
  3. Add to Holstein Housewares Pound Cake Maker and bake for 8-10 minutes.

Banana Bread

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2⅓ cups mashed overripe bananas
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture and pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.
  4. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, take it out of the pan and cool on a wire rack.

 

Italian Meatloaf

Bill loves this meatloaf.  However, when trying to get it out of the pan, the bottom did stick a little (so you may have to spray the pan down first).  It also drained off the grease while it was cooking (about half way through and again when I pulled it out of the oven).

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ¾ cup dry bread crumbs (I'm going to try a full cup next time I make this)
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Italian-style seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained (I used the ones with basil and oregano flavoring)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, eggs, bread crumbs and ketchup. Add in the Italian-style seasoning, oregano, basil, garlic salt, diced tomatoes and cheese. Press into a 9x5 inch loaf pan, and cover loosely with foil.
  3. Bake 1 hour or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
