Splenda Essentials Giveaway!

This giveaway is now over. The winner is Janet F. Congrats!

When it comes to staying healthy and making simple changes in order to see big results, we all have a few essential methods that we rely on. From biking to the grocery store instead of driving, to brown bagging our lunches instead of ordering out, a few small tweaks here and there can really make a difference. Splenda Essentials includes three smart ways to sweeten the foods you know and love with an added boost of B vitamins, antioxidants and fiber. It’s a calorie-free way to add a small boost of essential vitamins or fiber in each packet or teaspoon, and a way to add a little more than just ‘sweetness’ to foods and beverages.

I know, but how does it taste? Personally, I didn’t see much of a taste difference than if I had used sugar! I love that they have included ways to help you with the added vitamins and antioxidants. Many of the recipes that you can use this in (they have a list of Splenda recipes to check out) are superb like the icy lemon sorbet (can you tell that we’ve had over ninety degree weather for 2 weeks now?).

Since we’ve enjoyed this so much, I’ve got a Splenda prize pack for one of my lucky readers.  Here’s what you need to do:

Check out the Splenda recipes and tell me which one you plan on trying if you win this.

SOYJOY

As a person who is lactose intolerant, I’ve always got my eye out for soy products. However, soy has a of great nutritional value for the rest of you: rich in protein, fiber, antioxidants, and B vitamins. Keeping that in mind, SOYJOY is a fruit bar that is made with natural, minimally processed ingredients, such as ground whole soybeans and real fruit, and contain no trans fat or hydrogenated oils. They are launching their new and improved bars this month with a lighter, moister texture and naturally enhanced fruit flavor. They have also added two new flavors too. Banana and blueberry have a taste and aroma reminiscent of freshly baked banana nut or blueberry muffins. However, I do have to admit that I am still a fan of the strawberry ones. Strawberries happen to be my favorite food, so it is a tad hard to beat that out.

SOYJOY is also holding a great contest called “Second Chances”.  Visitors to their Facebook page can enter to win one of three $1,000 prizes by briefly telling their own personal story about a time they did not make the best first impression but, with a second chance, turned it into a joyous ending.  How cool is that?

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of SOYJOY and received samples of their nutritional bars to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central also sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Kellogg’s Fiber Plus Cereals

Kellogg’s has introduced to new cereals that not only taste good but also good for you. Kellogg’s FiberPlus Antioxidants Cereals are Berry Yogurt Crunch and Cinnamon Oat Crunch. They both are a great source of fiber and rich in antioxidant vitamins C and E. Both cereals are really good. I would compare the Cinnamon Oat Crunch to a cross between Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Even better — it has 3 times more fiber than Honey Nut Cheerios and more than 2 times the fiber of MultiGrain Cheerios! The Berry Yogurt Crunch cereal mixes whole-grain wheat and rice flakes with crunchy berry- and yogurt-flavored clusters. It’s a bunch of flavors exploding in your mouth!

Both cereals were a hit in my house. I love food that is both great tasting and good for my family!
