Filled with lasagna and hundreds more recipes that stick to your ribs, Garfield…Recipes with Cattitude! will be a treat for fans of both brands. They’ll love the lighthearted artwork, in Garfield’s signature style, and the simple recipes, inspired by all the foods Garfield would love.

As you all know, I am huge fan of Gooseberry Patch cookbooks. This one does not disappoint! The ingredients of these recipes will easily be found in your pantry. The instructions are easy to follow. There are also so many choices in here that there is something for everyone!

Here is one of the recipes:

Bachelor Style Skillet Lasagna

Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 14-oz cans beef broth
  • 14-1/2 oz can diced tomatoes
  • ¼ tsp Italian Seasoning
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cup rotini pasta, uncooked
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella
  • Garnish: Grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
  1. Brown meat in a skillet over medium heat; drain.
  2. Stir in broth, undrained tomatoes, and seasonings; bring to a boil.
  3. Stir in uncooked pasta. Cover and simmer for 12 - 14 minutes, until pasta is tender.
  4. Stir in mozzarella cheese.
  5. Top with parmesan cheese and serve.

Ground Beef Stew

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 3 carrots, cut into ½-inch pieces
  • 2 medium potatoes, cut into ¾-inch chunks
  • 1 medium onion, cut into 8 wedges
  • 16 oz. beef broth
  • 1 medium zucchini, sliced
  • 1 (14.5-oz.) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Instructions
  1. Combine ground beef, salt and pepper and brown. Drain.
  2. Add carrots, potatoes, onion and broth. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Stir in zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms, thyme and Worcestershire sauce. Cook 5 to 10 minutes
  4. Combine water and flour in a bowl. Gradually add to stew and stir. Stir until bubbly and thickened.

 

Beef Macaroni Soup

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 cans (14-1/2 ounces) beef broth
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ cup uncooked elbow macaroni
Instructions
  1. In a large saucepan, cook beef over medium heat and drain.
  2. Stir in the mixed vegetables, tomatoes, broth and pepper. Bring to a boil; add macaroni.
  3. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 - 15 minutes or until macaroni and vegetables are tender. (adjust your beef broth accordingly)
