Add a professional touch to baked goods by sifting with powdered sugar.  Place powdered sugar in a sieve.  Tap the edge of the sieve with an open palm as you move it back and forth over the cooled cookies, cake, or bread.

In hot, humid weather, flour absorbs less liquid than in dry weather.  That’s why many yeast bread recipes give a range of flour needed to make a soft dough.  Mix in just enough flour until the dough becomes soft instead of sticky.

Tip Of The Day

Focaccia is a flat Italian bread that is an excellent accompaniment to any Italian dinner.  Leftever focaccia makes great sandwiches.  You can also use focaccia as a pizza crust!  Just add tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and your favorite toppings and bake until cruse is golden and the cheese is melted.
