Nature’s Valley Granola Thins Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is now over. The winner is Veronica Garett. Congrats!

I’m always on the lookout for a good yet tasty snack for both me and my kids. Nature’s Valley Granola Thins definitely fit that bill.  Granola Thins are 100 percent natural, individually packaged, and at 80 calories per square, a perfect pick-me-up you can feel good about eating.   They have two flavors — dark chocolate and peanut butter.

Both flavors have been a huge hit in our house.  My 3 year old constantly asks for these!  The chocolate ones take care of any chocolate craving I may have too!  These are a great snack for everyone.

Since we liked these so much, I’ve arranged for one lucky reader to get a Nature’s Valley Prize Pack that includes a nature-inspired mug, mouse pad, and desk calendar.  Here’s what you need to do:

Which flavor would you like to try?  Peanut Butter?  Dark Chocolate?

Juice Facts

When you pick up a bottle of juice at the store, how do you know if you are buying the best for your kids? The easiest way is to take a look at the label. If you see “juice cocktail”, “drink” or beverage on the label, it means the juice contains less than 100% juice (and sometimes as little as 5%!). Look at the label closely; water, flavorings, and sweeteners are probably making up the rest. 100% juice or 100% pure means that the juice is “pure” juice. However, you should know that these juice blends are usually made with apple and grape juice as their first ingredient even if you aren’t having that kind of juice. Lastly, if you buy “light” juice, you may be in for a rude awakening. These light versions usually contain less sugar and fewer calories. They are usually diluted with water and/or sweeteners. They are usually priced the same as regular juice. If you are wanting light juice, I would highly suggest that you buy regular juice and dilute it yourself at home. You can save calories and money too!

Lose Weight Foods

Yes, there really are foods that can help you lose weight. You may want to start eating these food:

Walnuts – Not only can eating walnuts on a regular basis lower your cholesterol, they help you feel full. They contain proteins, healthy fats, and omega 3 fatty acids which contributes towards this.

Green Tea – Research has shows that green tea can increase your metabolism. If you drink it without milk or sugar, it does not contain any calories.

Whole Grain Cereal – Since whole grain foods take longer to digest, they make you feel full longer.

Watermelon – Any fruits or vegetables with a high water content fill you up with fewer calories. Other foods that can be included here are lettuce, cantaloupe, and cucumbers.
