Slow Cooker Sausage Soup

Slow Cooker Sausage Soup
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 tbsp minced onion
  • 2 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 (48 fluid ounce) can chicken broth
  • 1 large carrot, sliced ( I used baby carrots instead)
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach
  • ½ cup uncooked pearl barley
  • 1 can diced tomotoes
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage, onion, and garlic until the sausage is evenly brown. Season with Italian seasoning. Remove from heat, and drain.
  2. In a slow cooker, mix the sausage mixture, chicken broth, carrot, spinach, diced tomatoes and barley. Cover, and cook 4 hours on High or 6 to 8 hours on Low.

Wonka’s Easter and Spring Treats

With Easter right around the corner, there are some treats that have to make it into your Easter baskets this year. Wonka truly has something for everyone:

Let’s start with the Double Yummy Gummies candy.  My kids are huge fans of anything gummy, so needless to say, these went over quite well at my house!  They are offered in natural orange, lemon, and strawberry flavors.  Let’s just say that it is way too easy to eat the whole bag of them in one sitting.

The SweeTARTS candy carrots were also another winner in my house. I mean, seriously, how cute would it be to put a carrot in your loved ones Easter basket?  These orange Wonka SweeTARTS Jelly Beans are just what the Easter Bunny asked for.  The packaging is beyond cute and the jelly beans are super yummy!

Wonka even has chocolate this Easter:

You’ve got the the Wonka Exceptionals Scrumdiddlyumptious Chocolate Eggs. It’s creamy milk chocolate with toffee, crispy cookie, and crunchy peanuts.
They also have the Wonka Exceptionals Chocolate Waterfall Eggs. This is a delectable combination of swirled milk and white chocolate. To quote Madison, it almost looks like a cow!

Wonka has so many choices for the Easter Bunny to choose this year.  As my three old told me, all the Wonka candy is “yummy yummy yummy in my tummy tummy tummy”. Who can argue with that?

Progresso Giveaway!

This giveaway is now over. The winner is Janet F. Congrats!

I like soup especially here in Chicago in the winter time. Nothing is better to warm you up from the inside out and if it is low in calories, even better! Did you know that Progresso Soup can help curb your hunger, and it is available in 40 delicious flavors that have 100 calories or less? With hearty ingredients like pasta, beans, corn and rice, and flavor-packed vegetables like tomatoes, carrots, and peppers, Progresso Soup varieties offer a good source of fiber and a full serving of vegetables. I always feel like Progresso Soup is the “adult” soup on the market. It is filling. It is good and very flavorful. It is just an added plus that it is low in calories.
