Cayenne & Lime Popcorn

Cayenne & Lime Popcorn

Author:
Ingredients
  • ½ cup (125mL) popcorn kernels
  • ½ 1 teaspoon (2.5mL-5mL) cayenne
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5mL) salt
  • 2 tablespoons (30mL) unsalted butter
Instructions
  1. Add kernels to PaperChef parchment bag. Close and fold down 3-4 times to really seal bag. Place bag on its side in the microwave, making sure the fold is on top. Cook on HIGH for 2½ minutes. Place butter in a microwave safe dish, place beside popcorn and cook for another 15 seconds. Remove from microwave and carefully open the bag, the steam will seep out and be spectacular. Pour melted butter over and quickly add cayenne, lime juice and salt. Close bag and shake well to coat.
  2. Grill Method: melt butter, drizzle into bag. Fold bag carefully. Throw on a hot (but not flaming) grill. Cook for five minutes shaking it every 2-3 times until the fireworks stop. Open bag, season, shake, serve. Done!

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cascade. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

I love my dishwasher.  I swear that baby is another member of my family.  Yes, I hate washing dishes that much.  That is why I was happy to become a Cascade Platinum Ambassador!  Cascade is one of the few dishwasher detergents out there that do exactly what it says it will do.  This is the first of 4 posts I’ll be doing about Cascade and my experience with it.

I usually end up running the dishwasher every day.  However, it tends to be in the morning, so our dinner dishes sit for a pretty long time before they get washed.  There is nothing worse than stuck on oatmeal and ketchup.  Actually, there is something worse — having to wash your dishes before you stick them in the dishwasher.  Defeats the purpose of a dishwasher if you ask me!

Cascade Platinum Pacs achieve a top-tier clean so powerful that they even help keep your dishwasher machine sparkling and deliver a variety of dish care benefits.  First, they power away tough, 24 hour stuck-on food.  Using this eliminates the need to pre-wash dishes.  For a busy mom like myself, this is a huge plus in my book.   I love that it helps maintain the look of new machines and helps prevent additional hard-water build-up (which is super important to us since we just got a new dishwasher a couple of months ago!).  Lastly, it delivers an exceptional dishware shine.

Are your current dishwashing products performing to your standards? Do you notice streaks or films after washing? Do you ever find yourself wasting time by pre-rinsing or double-washing dishes? Or are you already a Cascade fan like myself and don’t have any of these issues?

To the delight of many, this means no more food burned on the stove while Googling how to julienne carrots.

Other user-friendly features of “America’s Favorite Food” include quick access icons for each recipe which identify recipes as ‘Kid Friendly,’ ‘Gluten Free,’ and ‘30 Minutes or Less,’ among others; reviews and advice from MyRecipes.com users on the best substitutions and suggestions for specific dishes; and quick tips from MyRecipes editors that outline how to enhance a dish and tips for finding special ingredients at your local market, plus much more.

I love this cookbook.  Not only does it have “normal” food that you would serve, it has normal ingredients.  I love the substitution advice each recipe has too.  These are tried and true suggestions from people on the MyRecipes site.  I also love that you don’t have to use the Scan It feature, and the cookbook still rocks.  I love that ever recipe has a picture too.  I like knowing what my meal is suppose to look like (because sometimes it doesn’t look like its suppose to!).

America’s Favorite Food is full of yummy recipes you’ll want to try.  The hardest thing will be to figure out what to make first!
