Wasa Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is now over. The winner is Justine. Congrats!

Wasa Flatbreads are made with a few, simple all natural ingredients.  They are then seasoned and oven baked for a one of a kind taste.  This healthier cracker offers endless topping possibilities.  In addition, the Stay Fresh packs make them a great on the go snack.  They come in three flavors:  Original, Sesame, and Rosemary.

We were given one of each to try.  The Original Wasa Flatbreads on their own seemed a little bland.  However, if you top it with a flavored cream cheese of some sort, it was way better.  The sesame was good with everything we put on top of it (cheese, sausage, dip, etc).  However, our favorite was the Rosemary.  These flatbreads were good on their own, and also worked well with all the topics we tried with it.  We served these at a football party we were having, and everyone seemed to like them!  If you are looking for a healthier snack in your house, give Wasa Flatbreads a try!

Since we liked them so much, I’ve arranged for one of my lucky readers to get a Wasa Prize Pack!   The winner will get all 3 flavors of Wasa, a Wasa branded tin, flash drive and pen, tote bag, and a book on recipes with flatbreads!  Here’s what you need to do:

Check out Wasa‘s site and tell me which flavor of flatbread you think you’d like best.

Lisa’s Chili

Now, this is a very simple recipe since this was the first time I made this! We fed 6 adults and two kids with this and still had leftovers. It is not spicy, so everyone should be able to eat it (I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old so spicy is out of the question here).

Lisa's Chili

Author:
Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cups of elbow macaroni
  • 28 oz can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 2 15 oz cans of tomato sauce
  • 1 46 oz bottle of tomato juice (this can actually be smaller however that is what I bought)
  • 1 pkg of chili seasoning
Instructions
  1. Brown ground beef and onion together and drain. Also, make the elbow macaroni noodles as directed on the box.
  2. In the meantime, put the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato sauce, and chili seasoning into a stick pot and stir together. Pour the beef and noodles in when done. Stir. Bring to a boil, then cook on low until you are ready to eat. Add in the tomato juice when and if you feel like the chili is becoming too think. I ended up using about 23 oz of the tomato juice, because we ate this during a football game.
Notes
You are able to add whatever topping you like when serving. I personally did shredded cheese while my husband added hot sauce, shredded cheese, and oyster crackers.
