McCain Potatoes!

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for McCain Foods. I received a sample to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.

I am going to be honest. I am a meat and potatoes gal. My whole family is. I will always eat a potato that you throw in front of me, so needless to say, I was excited to try out the McCain potatoes. They all looked so good!

My kids absolutely love the McCain Smilies. It is one of the few times I let them play with their food. Like love to pretend their potatoes have voices and make comments like “don’t eat me” right before they shove it in the mouth. (I never said we were normal LOL.) Madison can’t get enough of their sweet potato fries either!

Why do I love McCain potatoes? Where do I start. I love that they are made from natural ingredients. My picky eater kids love to eat them. I don’t have to bribe them to eat dinner — they just do (with sounds effect but hey they are eating!) The McCain potatoes are just so easy to make too. I can’t complain when all it requires me to do is throw them in the over and flip them over at some point. Seriously, that’s it.

Chocoholic Chocolate Brownie Oatmeal

Special thanks to Pritikin Longevity Center for the recipe!

Chocoholic Chocolate Brownie Oatmeal

Author:
Ingredients
  • ½ cup rolled oats cooked with 1.5 cups of water
  • 1 tsp raw, unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup non-fat milk
  • 1 tablespoon walnuts (optional)
  • 1 cup Blueberries (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Splenda
Instructions
  1. Cook the oats with 1.5 cups of water until the oats are fluffy and all the water has disappeared (I do this by cooking it for 2 minutes in the microwave, stirring, and cooking it for 2 more minutes.)
  2. Add the cocoa powder and cinnamon to the cooked oats while they are still hot.
  3. Stir until everything is fully combined, and your oats have a deep chocolatey color.
  4. Add the walnuts, and the milk (you can add as much milk as you like – I use about ½ a cup to give the oats a nice creamy consistency)
  5. Add the splenda and stir to combine until the oats have the consistency you like. If you’re using blueberries, add them in now.
  6. Enjoy the chocolatey brownie goodness of the oatmeal.

Mrs. Smith’s Signature Deep Dish Pies

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Mrs. Smith’s. All opinions are 100% mine.

MrsSmith.jpgAs a busy mom, you all know how important it is for me to find easy ways to make dinner and dessert.  Mrs. Smith's Signature Deep Dish pies is one of the ways you can have a great dessert that doesn't take up a lot of your time!  Amanda Smith started by baking pies for family, friends and charity events, but when her son, Robert Smith, convinced her to sell her pies, a business was born. Today, the makers of MRS. SMITH'S® desserts continue the tradition started by Amanda Smith, delivering pies and cobblers with made-from-scratch goodness you can see and taste.

Two pIes I personally know I would love are:

Apple and pumpkin pie have always been my favorites, so this was a pretty easy choice.  In total, they have  4 different Deep Dish pies you can choose from:

  1. Signature Deep Dish Dutch Apple Pie with Caramel Sauce
  2. Signature Deep Dish Cherry Pie with Butter Fudge Sauce
  3. Signature Deep Dish Peach Pie with Cream Cheese Icing
  4. Signature Deep Dish Pumpkin Pie with Cream Cheese Icing

As you can see, you can easily mix the topping amongst them.  They also have a flavor for pretty much everyone!  All of the pies sound absolutely phenominal to me.  Which of the Mrs. Smith's pies would you like to try?

You can follow Mrs. Smith on both Facebook and Pinterest to find out more about their great products.  You can also check out which retailers carry this great brand!
