Fisher Chef’s Naturals Sliced Almonds Giveaway!

Many of us have New Year’s resolutions to eat healthier. While nuts may not be the lowest calorie item on the menu, they’re at the top of the chart for being a great source of protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals. With plenty of flavor and crunch to go around, they’re also a great addition to healthy salads, yogurt and oatmeal. That is why I have teamed up again with Fisher!

To help you with your New Year’s resolution, Fisher Nuts is offering some great recipes for a 2012:

Simply Delicious Walnut Oatmeal: This is a fresh twist on oatmeal with chopped walnuts and sliced fruit!. It is sweet, crunchy, and delicious.

Crunchy Cranberry Granola: This nutty granola is filled with oats, almonds, and pecans and makes a great snack.

Toasted Pine Nut & Garlic Hummus: This hummus is super taste with garlic, parsley, and pine nuts.

Asian Chicken Salad: You can easily add flavor and crunch to your salad with the Asian Chicken Salad topped with toasted almonds.

The almonds that were sent to me were awesome (and tasty!), so I know you all will like them! That is why I have arranged for one lucky reader to get a bag of their own! Here’s what you need to do:

Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit

Did you know that:

  • Nearly 60% of U.S. parents of children ages 3-17 admit that their child skips breakfast, with more than half of U.S. Moms wishing their child ate a more nutritious breakfast.
  • 58% of U.S. Moms say they skip breakfast regularly. 46% of Moms who skip breakfast say they do so because they do not have enough time to prepare or eat it.
  • 57% of single adults say the number one reason they skip breakfast is that they don’t have enough time to prepare it.
  • While 71% of U.S. adults agree that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, 67% of those admit to skipping breakfast.

Those are pretty scary statistics.  I was even shocked by some of them.  That being said, my kids and I recently tried out a great nutritious breakfast that they actually liked!  Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit  (which recently launched on April 4 at Wal-Mart) is the perfect choice for anyone who has trouble finding time for breakfast in the morning.  You pop the little bowl in the microwave for 45 seconds, and breakfast is ready!  Seneca’s Oatmeal & Fruit has no trans fats or cholesterol, and is a great source of Vitamin C.   Two initial flavors are being introduced – Apple Cinnamon and Vanilla Peach.  Madison loved these!  She loved the taste and loved the fact that they came in what she described as “a little bowl”.

Seneca Farm Oatmeal & Fruit is a product I’ll definitely be buying more of!

Kellogg’s Fiber Plus Cereals

Kellogg’s has introduced to new cereals that not only taste good but also good for you. Kellogg’s FiberPlus Antioxidants Cereals are Berry Yogurt Crunch and Cinnamon Oat Crunch. They both are a great source of fiber and rich in antioxidant vitamins C and E. Both cereals are really good. I would compare the Cinnamon Oat Crunch to a cross between Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Even better — it has 3 times more fiber than Honey Nut Cheerios and more than 2 times the fiber of MultiGrain Cheerios! The Berry Yogurt Crunch cereal mixes whole-grain wheat and rice flakes with crunchy berry- and yogurt-flavored clusters. It’s a bunch of flavors exploding in your mouth!

Both cereals were a hit in my house. I love food that is both great tasting and good for my family!
