I recently got the opportunity to review the FoodSaver® V4880 Vacuum Sealer. The FoodSaver® Brand is the market leader in the vacuum packaging category with their full line of FoodSaver® appliances, bags, rolls and accessories. The FoodSaver® system keeps food fresh up to 5x longer than ordinary storage methods like zipper bags, foil, plastic wrap, and uses specially-designed bags and canisters to lock out air and moisture to prevent freezer burn. I got to review it for myself at home and I’ll be having Foodsaver party also. (Like a Tupperware party but you don’t have to buy anything! LOL)

I love purchasing food in bulk. However, up till now, it was hard to keep that food fresh. This is all the meat we bought at the grocery store. They had a great deal on the ribs (it was buy a package and get the second one free. You can’t go wrong on a deal like that!). All the other meat also was on sale. However, that is why too much for my little family of 4 to eat in a week. That’s where the Foodsaver comes in.

It is super easy to vacuum seal your stuff. The hardest party is putting the bag into the Foodsaver just right so it kicks on. The rest of it is pretty simple.

We used both the premade bags you can get and also made a few of our own! All this meat was a great test for the FoodSaver® V4880 Vacuum Sealer!

We were then able to stick them right in the freezer. Next year, we will have a garden and I’m super excited to know we can use this on mason jars so we can can some of our left over vegetables! My MIL made a ton of homemade spaghetti sauce that I’m dying to make myself! We are even thinking of getting a Costco membership since we now can take advantage of buying things in bulk!! I’m even going to make some bread and vacuum seal it. I love that you can buy all sorts of sizes and kinds of bags. I love that I can use it on meat and snacks alike. I love that I can use to for canning. I love that it easily fits right on my counter, so it’s easy to use.

As you can see, I am super excited with our FoodSaver® V4880 Vacuum Sealer! What would you like to be able to vacuum seal at your house?

McCain Potatoes!

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for McCain Foods. I received a sample to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.

I am going to be honest. I am a meat and potatoes gal. My whole family is. I will always eat a potato that you throw in front of me, so needless to say, I was excited to try out the McCain potatoes. They all looked so good!

My kids absolutely love the McCain Smilies. It is one of the few times I let them play with their food. Like love to pretend their potatoes have voices and make comments like “don’t eat me” right before they shove it in the mouth. (I never said we were normal LOL.) Madison can’t get enough of their sweet potato fries either!

Why do I love McCain potatoes? Where do I start. I love that they are made from natural ingredients. My picky eater kids love to eat them. I don’t have to bribe them to eat dinner — they just do (with sounds effect but hey they are eating!) The McCain potatoes are just so easy to make too. I can’t complain when all it requires me to do is throw them in the over and flip them over at some point. Seriously, that’s it.

Grocery Cart

I am happy to share with you all that McCain Potatoes is running a Facebook Contest where they will select 1 winner each week (8 winners total) to receive a $500 grocery store gift card!
