At last, the famed Taste of Home Cooking School has its own cookbook. The Taste of Home Cooking School Cookbook, available at retailers now, is the companion to America’s wildly popular cooking school tradition, attended by nearly 5 million people over the last 20 years.

This comprehensive cookbook, available in both print and ebook, brings the best of these sought after Cooking School lessons into your very own home for the very first time. The Taste of Home Cooking School Cookbook is packed with friendly guidance and savvy advice for anyone who takes the time to cook for their family.

Whatever your skill level in the kitchen, this instructional cookbook features more than 400 easy-to-follow recipes complete with nutrition facts, which have been expertly tested and selected by Taste of Home, the number one food and entertaining magazine, read by more than 16 million. I have to say that I love this cookbook. The recipes include ingredients you already have in your home. They are foods that you would eat on a regular basis and don’t include ingredients that you are only going to buy once and never use again. Betty Crocker Potato Buds Giveaway

This giveaway is now over. The winner is Pamela S. Congrats!

Whether you prefer your mashed potatoes topped with butter, sour cream or cheese, the Betty Crocker Potato Buds that you’ve come to know and love has a new and improved taste that is sure to please even your pickiest eaters. And ready in just five minutes, they’re perfect for busy weeknights and last minute dinner ideas!  I like real mashed potatoes just as much as the next person, but with two little ones (and a puppy), I just don’t have the time nor the patience to make them.

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you’ll remember a few of my recipes that use mashed potatoes: Cheeseburger Mashed Potato Bake, Italian Style Meatloaf, and Italian Sausage Mashed Potato Pie.  Betty Crocker Potato Buds would work perfect in all three of these recipes.  Betty Crocker has a few of their own recipes that this can be used in too including Beef Pot Pie with Potato Biscuit Crust and Italian Hamburger Deep Dish.

Did you know that Betty Crocker Potato Buds are gluten-free?  If you are looking for some gluten-free recipes, make sure you check out Potato-Crusted Salmon and Cheesy Broccoli-Potato Soup!

Since my family has enjoyed this so much, I’ve arrange for one lucky reader to get a Betty Crocker Potato Buds prize pack.  The prize pack  includes a box of Betty Crocker Potato Buds, a serving bowl, a trivet and a serving spoon.  Who couldn’t use that?  For those who don’t win, I have a 55 cent off coupon you can download, so you can try these yourself!  Here’s what you need to enter:

Chili Mac n Cheese

This easy to make recipe is better than Hamburger Helper.  However, it is only okay.  I am still trying to figure out what needs to be changed to make it excellent.  If you have any ideas, let me know!

Chili Mac n Cheese
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2⅓ uncooked rotini pasta
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2¼ cup water
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups shredded taco flavored cheese
  1. Brown ground beef and drain. Stir in uncooked pasta, chili powder, water, and tomatoes. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for around 10 - 12 minutes or until pasta is tender.
  2. Remove from heat and let stand uncovered for 5 minutes. Stir in cheese until melted and sprinkle with additional chili powder.
