Honey Wafers

A new snack we recently tried at my house are the Original Honey Filled and Chocolate Filled Wafer Thins. I never had these before, but Bill recalls have these a young child. He actually might have. Bill grew up in this area and this company is based out of Crestwood, IL! What are Honey Wafers? They are two crispy light 8 inch wafer rounds that are hand-sandwiched together with a honey filling. I’ve been hoarding the chocolate ones to myself, because I like them so much.  However, I have let the kids and the hubby at the honey ones.  We even brought some of these to a family get together, and they were a huge hit.  Everyone wanted to know where we got them from!  I also like that they are 100% natural.  Honey Wafers have no preservatives, no saturated fat, no trans fats, and no cholesterol.  They are even certified kosher!  These make an excellent snack too, because they are only 90 calories!  My first thought when I took a bite was that it tastes like an ice cream cone.  When you get down to the filling part, that just makes it all the more better.  I actually found this snack pretty filling and something I could definitely give both of my kids to eat as a snack.

If you are looking for a healthy snack for you or your kids to try, Honey Wafers is definitely something you should check into.  Not only are they healthy, they taste great too!

Wolferman’s French Toast Rounds

This easy to make recipe is take off of our well known french toasts. However, if you are looking for something a little different, definitely try out these french toast rounds.

I recommend using Wolferman’s English Muffins for this recipe for several reasons.  First, I love the size of them.  That is literally the first thing you will notice.  If you are like me, you are buying whatever is cheaper at the store.  However, cheap does not equal same quality.  Wolferman’s English Muffins are double the size of what I normally buy.  I also noticed right away that I didn’t have to slice these open.  With little ones, I try to use knives the least amount as possible.  These you just have to gently pull them apart.  These are super yummy too.  I cannot believe the taste difference.  When you open the bag, you immediately can smell the flavor.  The cinnamon and raison english muffins is one of the best scents.  Another favorite flavor for our house was the Apple Orchards (I liked the scent of this one too).  If you need english muffins, I highly recommend Wolferman’s.  Without further ado, here is the recipe:

4 Wolferman’s 1910 Original Signature English Muffins (you could also use the Honey & Oats, Cinnamon & Raisin, and Cranberry English Muffins)
2 eggs
1 1/4 cups milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon

In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, vanilla, and cinnamon until well blended. Heat a lightly oiled griddle to medium/hot. Dip both sides of the muffin halves into the egg mixture. Place slices on heated griddle. Cook until golden brown on both sides.

Both my kids and I liked this (hubby missed it due to being at the Chicago Bears game).  Let me know if you have a great french toast recipe I should try on our next bag of English muffins.

Sometimes I Feel Like A Nut . . .

And if you do too, you should definitely try out Frito-Lays new brand.  Its called True North.  They have everything from nut clusters to nut crunches to nut crisps to whole nuts.  They seriously take care of any “nut” need you may have.  Their mission statement is one of most unique ones I’ve seen in a long time.  It is “to bring inspiration to natural snacking”.  Recently, Bill (the hubby) and I tried a couple of the peanut crunches. We tried both the toasted sesame and the honey wheat.  I’ll be honest, when I opened the package of the honey wheat crunches, I just wanted to smell them all day.  They smell that yummy!  They also taste just as good too.   Some other things I like about them are that they are 100% natural, no preservatives, no artificial flavors, and no added colors.  They also are a good source of protein and fiber.  All the nuts are also grown and produced in the United States of America.  They are both kosher and vegan too!

Where can you get these?  Target, CVS, Sam’s, and Walmart carry these wonderful snacks.  If you feel like a nut and don’t want your normal plain boring peanut, give these a try!  You won’t regret it and will pick up a new healthy snack.
