Cooking With Nuts Giveaway

Screen Shot 2012-12-12 at 9.42.33 AMThe holidays are just around the corner, which means it’s time to break out the roasting pans and make an extra trip (or two) to the baking aisle. Fisher Nuts is teaming up with Food Network Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, a regular judge on Chopped, to make your holiday cooking a bit easier and offer you and your readers some simple twists for cooking with nuts during the holidays.

Now, for me, adding nuts to your cookies or banana bread (because banana bread isn’t complete without nuts in it!), is fairly easy, so I was happy to team up with Fisher Nuts.  Their nuts are just sooo good and so easy to use!  My number one tip for using nuts is to toast them first.  It brings out more of their flavor!

Since we love Fisher Nuts so much at my house, I have arranged for one lucky reader to win a Cooking with Nuts prize pack.  It includes:

·         Alex’s Recipe Tips and Booklet

·         Fisher Chef’s Naturals Slivered Almonds

·         Fisher Chef’s Naturals Pecan Halves

·         Fisher Chef’s Naturals Walnut Halves & Pieces

·         Food Network 5-Piece Stainless Steel Measuring Cups

·         Food Network Silicone Spatula

·         OXO Whisk

·         Wood Cutting Board

Surf Sweets

My kids love fruit snacks. However, a lot of what you find on the market has stuff you just don’t want them to have! However, I found the answer.

Surf Sweets are made with organic fruit and sweeteners. They are free of artificial flavors and colors too. They are also made without corn syrup! Surf Sweets are both gluten-free and casein-free and are also made in a facility free of the ten most common allergies. They also have Vitamin C in them (100% RDA of Vitamin C)! Best of all, they are made right here in the US.

But how do they taste?  Awesome.  We were sent several different packages to try, and my kids loved every single kind they had (so did my husband but I’m not sure if he wants me to mention that).  :)  I love that there is something out there for kids who have allergies.  Madison has a little boy in her class that is allergic to nuts, so I’ve learned how hard it is to find things that don’t have it in or not made at a facility that has them.

Surf Sweets are a snack I can stand behind.  They have several different varieties of snack (jelly beans, sour worms, gummy bears, fruity bears, gummy swirls, gummy worms, sour berry bears, etc), so there is something for everyone.  Go check them out — they are really good!
