Blue Diamond Almonds Wheat & Gluten-Free Artisan Nut-Thins

IMG_0563

Flax Seeds: These crackers are made with brown rice, almonds and flax seed. These were really good, actually my favorite of the three flavors. Has a good nutty flavor with a hint of salt. I enjoyed these cracker with hummus and as well as alone. The flax seed nut-thins provides 400mg of ALA OMEGA-3.

Multi-Seeds: These crackers are made with brown rice, almonds and multi-seeds. These tasted similar to the flax seed nut-thins, still flavorful and nutty. I used these to eat salsa instead of corn tortilla chips and I thought it tasted just as good if not better. The multi-seed nut-thins provides 21g of whole grain goodness.

Sesame Seeds: These crackers are made with brown rice, almonds and sesame seeds. These were not too bad, it has a strong flavor of sesame seed and I’m not fond of sesame. My husband and aunt on the other hand liked them a lot. I used these crumbled in a bowl of chili and it tasted really good and masked the sesame flavor. The sesame seed nut-thins provides a good source of fiber.

In the end, all three nut-thins have great healthy benefits and is a nice guilty free snack. For delicious dip recipes to compliment your nut-thins, you can visit bluediamond.com.

Wasa Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is now over. The winner is Justine. Congrats!

Wasa Flatbreads are made with a few, simple all natural ingredients.  They are then seasoned and oven baked for a one of a kind taste.  This healthier cracker offers endless topping possibilities.  In addition, the Stay Fresh packs make them a great on the go snack.  They come in three flavors:  Original, Sesame, and Rosemary.

We were given one of each to try.  The Original Wasa Flatbreads on their own seemed a little bland.  However, if you top it with a flavored cream cheese of some sort, it was way better.  The sesame was good with everything we put on top of it (cheese, sausage, dip, etc).  However, our favorite was the Rosemary.  These flatbreads were good on their own, and also worked well with all the topics we tried with it.  We served these at a football party we were having, and everyone seemed to like them!  If you are looking for a healthier snack in your house, give Wasa Flatbreads a try!

Since we liked them so much, I’ve arranged for one of my lucky readers to get a Wasa Prize Pack!   The winner will get all 3 flavors of Wasa, a Wasa branded tin, flash drive and pen, tote bag, and a book on recipes with flatbreads!  Here’s what you need to do:

Check out Wasa‘s site and tell me which flavor of flatbread you think you’d like best.

Risotto Chips Review and Giveaway!

This giveaway is now over. The winner is Benita. Congrats!

I hate to admit it, but we are a chip loving family especially Bill and Will. I swear that these two have not met a chip they didn’t like. When I was asked to try the new Risotto chips, I knew I couldn’t turn it down!

Risotto Chips are a healthier for you snacking option.  They are made from Arborio rice flour, risotto, whole grain corn flour, and sesame seeds.  They are lightly seasoned with natural herbs and spices.  They also are all natural and gluten free.  Each serving offers 11 grams of whole grains.  They come in three flavors:

  • Spicy Marinara – Tomato, onion, green pepper, and red pepper
  • Parmesan & Roasted Garlic
  • Sea Salt

What we found nice about these chips is that you can eat them alone.  You don’t need a dip for them, because they have plenty of flavor on their own.  Our favorite flavor is the Spicy Marinara chips.  That being said, they all have great taste, and it’s nice to know that my family is eating healthier alternative.  You can find these Risotto chips in the deli section at your local grocery store.

Since we like them so much, I’ve arranged for one lucky reader to get a bag for themselves to try.  Here’s what you need to do:

Tell me which flavor you’d like to try.
