Wasa Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is now over. The winner is Justine. Congrats!

Wasa Flatbreads are made with a few, simple all natural ingredients.  They are then seasoned and oven baked for a one of a kind taste.  This healthier cracker offers endless topping possibilities.  In addition, the Stay Fresh packs make them a great on the go snack.  They come in three flavors:  Original, Sesame, and Rosemary.

We were given one of each to try.  The Original Wasa Flatbreads on their own seemed a little bland.  However, if you top it with a flavored cream cheese of some sort, it was way better.  The sesame was good with everything we put on top of it (cheese, sausage, dip, etc).  However, our favorite was the Rosemary.  These flatbreads were good on their own, and also worked well with all the topics we tried with it.  We served these at a football party we were having, and everyone seemed to like them!  If you are looking for a healthier snack in your house, give Wasa Flatbreads a try!

Since we liked them so much, I’ve arranged for one of my lucky readers to get a Wasa Prize Pack!   The winner will get all 3 flavors of Wasa, a Wasa branded tin, flash drive and pen, tote bag, and a book on recipes with flatbreads!  Here’s what you need to do:

Check out Wasa‘s site and tell me which flavor of flatbread you think you’d like best.

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

I always love easy to make slow cooker recipes. I love being able to throw together a few things in the morning, and then have supper ready for that evening. Like tonight, Bill was over an hour late, but the kids and I were able to eat.

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Author:
Ingredients
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ⅓ cup Italian dressing
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce (I used Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce)
  • 1 tsp oregano leaves
  • 1 lb beef stew meat
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 bag baby carrots (16oz)
  • 1 large onion, cut into chunks
  • 3 tbsp Tastefully Simple Bacon Bacon Seasoning (A couple pieces of chopped up bacon should work too)
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 3 tbsp water
Instructions
  1. Mix broth, dressing, BBQ sauce, and oregano in a bowl. Put all remaining ingredients in the slow cooker except for the flour and water. Pour bowl mixture over the ingredients in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 - 9 hours (or 4 - 5 hours on high).
  2. Fifteen minutes before you want to serve, use a slotted spoon and transfer meat and veggies to a serving bowl. Cover with foil.
  3. In a bowl, mix the flour and water until well blended. Stir into slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 15 minutes. Spoon over meat and vegetables.
