Stanley Degreaser Concentrate

For 70 years, Stanley Home has been offering quality cleaning, home, and personal care products to North American homes and families.   That is why I was happy to try out there new Degreaser Concentrate.  It is four times more concentrated than leading cleaners and powers out tough grease build-up and stains wherever they’re found. Since you use less, you save more, for better results!  It is safe for septic systems, biodegradable, and phosphate-free.

The best part is that you can use a degreaser in really any part of your home.  In the kitchen, you can clean stainless steel sinks, spray on dried food on your counter top, and spray on top of your stove for quick after dinner cleanup.   In the bathroom, you can use this to clean your shower and your tub, clean ceramic tile, and even use it to soak your combs!  The degreaser can be used in the laundry room to remove lipstick and make-up.  I love that you can use it to clean kids toys and even your walls!   You can even use this on your grill and your garbage cans.

There are just so many uses for the Stanley Degreaser Concentrate that I could go on and on and on about it.  However, does it really work?  We tried it on several different things in our house, and it worked every single time.  The added bonus is that I’ve learned how many uses there are for degreaser!

E-cloth Review

This post is also being posted on Lisa Reviews.

When I recently went to the International Housewares Association show, I met the daughter of the CEO of TADgreen Inc who makes the e-cloth. Their tagline is “perfect cleaning with just water”, so I knew I had to talk them.  We’ve slowly been trying to eliminate the chemicals we use in our home (with 2 kids and a dog it is pretty important to us).  I was very impressed with the demos they showed us there (like taking chapstick and rubbing it all over a stainless steel fridge door.  A little water and one of these e-clothes and it was gone!), so I gladly took a Kitchen Pack and a Range & Stovetop Pack to review.

It is hard to believe that I was excited about basically dish clothes, but I was!  E-cloth fibers are designed to provide maximum cleaning power.  They are made from polyester and polyamide, and the fibers are 1,000 times finer than cotton fibers.  Since the filaments are so small and strong, they can break up, lift, lock in, and clean deep down using just water.  E-cloths also absorb 8 times their weight in water.  Studies have also shown that e-cloths remove over 99% of bacteria too!

So what did we think?  Awesome doesn’t describe it good enough.  Instead, after seeing that the front window could be cleaned (between the dog licking it and the kids fingerprints, it is nasty), my husband (yes, my husband) walked around with a squirt bottle of water and one of these e-clothes and cleaned every mirror and window in the house without being asked.  (Feel free to faint now because I almost did at the time!).  I’ve even heard him telling other people about these, because he was so impressed.  The Range & StoveTop Pack was worked excellent on our stove too.  We both hate cleaning it, so sometimes things get stuck on there a tad longer than we’d like.  No problem to remove any of that with this!

I’m hoping to get my hands on the laundry bag, the glasses cloths, and the glass cloth too!  They have e-cloths for every room in your home, so go check them out!  You won’t be sorry, and the earth will thank you.

Tip Of The Day: Baking Soda

  • Clean combs and brushes in a soda solution.
  • Wash glasses or stainless steel coffee pots (but not aluminum) in 3 tbsp soda to 1 qt water
  • Sprinkle soda on grills, let soak, rinse off.
  • Sprinkle soda on a greasy garage floor.  Let stand, scrub, and rinse.
  • For a pan with a think layer of burned on food, pour a thick layer of soda in it, just moisten with water.  Let stand overnight.  Scrub it clean the next day.
  • Soak shower curtains in water and soda to clean them.
  • Sprinkle soda in tennis shoes, socks, boots, and slippers to eliminate odor.
  • Repel rain from your windshield by wiping it inside and out with a damp cloth cover in gobs of baking soda.
  • Soak dried beans in soda and water to make them more digestible.
  • Freshen carpet and upholstered furniture  by sprinkling with baking soda.  Allow it to sit undisturbed a half hour or so and vacuum.
  • Eliminate water rings on finished wood with a paste of baking soda and toothpaste applied with a soft cloth.
  • Get rid of ants by sprinkling an equal mixture of baking soda and salt where they are coming in.
  • Fill nail holes in a plastered wall with a paste of white toothpaste and baking soda.
