Tip Of The Day
Written by Lisa on July 17, 2008 – 12:49 am -Using a toothpick as a test for doneness for brown bread does not work very well. The bread is very dense. When it is firm to the touch and pulls away from the side of the pan, it is done.

Football Cake
Written by Lisa on March 26, 2008 – 9:24 am -
1 package Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Devil’s Food Cake Mix
1 container Duncan Hines Chocolate Frosting
Icing
Preheat over to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 10 inch round cake pan. Prepare cake following package instructions for the basic recipe. Bake for 45 - 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
After the cake has cooled, cut cake and remove a 2-inch slice from center. Push the two sides back together and frost. You should frost the pieces so they stay together plus the sides. I used a basketweave tip and orange icing to make it look like a football lacings.
